On Saturday, April 18, Chris Annibell and OP! return to Louie & Chan at the303 for the Spring-time edition of AFROKINETIC!!!     February’s event was absolutely phenomenal! The venue packed-out early, the vibe was banana’s and the dance floor was jumping till the bitter end. All of that, during THE coldest month of the year!!!!! Thankfully, those days are done; spring has returned, and we are all ready to celebrate!!! Longer days, shorter nights, BBQ’s and iced cold brews, sun-kissed daydreams on Brownstone stoops, on Sunday afternoons… Spring fever is here and we are ready to throw one hell of a party!! To make this event just a little bit sweeter, I’m am happy to announce that OP! has officially been asked to join the AFROKINETIC family, and has accepted the title, resident DJ. He has been an avid supporter of the event for nearly a decade, a frequent guest, an accomplished DJ in his own right; and I am happy to share the decks with him. Please show love and welcome him. PRESS: In a sea of parties featuring endless variations on the same techno beats, Afrokinetic stands out. Its DJs are rooted in the school of house that made New York famous but add a heavy dose of soul, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and Afro-Caribbean music into the mix. The unique blend combines the best parts of a traditional club night with the joy of the source music, creating a welcoming block party vibe that draws weekend warriors, seriously skilled breakdancers, and everyone in between. – FLAVORPILL THE MUSIC:    House, tech, jazz, funk, soul, broken, bass, latin, boogie, disco, dub, deep, hip-hop, afro, experimental … and the list keeps growing. WHEN: Saturday, April 18 10pm – 4am WHERE: the303 @ Louie and Chan 303 Broome Street, NYC COVER: Free before 11pm / $10 after
